Description: we have Austin Heitzman coming to town. He is a famous professional stand-maker and fine furniture craftsman.
www.AustinHeitzmanFurniture.com
Bio: I craft timeless furniture that allows wood’s natural beauty to speak for itself. Many influences converged to make that happen —from my love of nature to growing up in Southeast Asia where I was first exposed to the art of bonsai. Through bonsai I explore the connection between nature and art. A great stand elevates any bonsai to a higher level and I am proud to have crafted stands for many award-winning trees. Bonsai taught me to utilize a board’s individual characteristics, especially defects, to suggest something greater than the material itself. I feel fortunate to be able to manifest what I value through my work—a deep appreciation of nature through authentic, well-made furniture.

He is headed to the Bonsai Central (https://bonsai-central.com/) event and is driving through Boise on the 26th. He will be staying the night (hosted by two of our members).
We will have a no-host dinner on the evening of the 26th. If any members are interested in joining us (Jon NEEDS your RSVP ASAP). This is on Friday the 26th Time TBD location Smoky Mountain Pizza Park Center.
Austin has graciously offered to sell stands and give us a presentation on Saturday morning (Location is TBD) time will be 9-11am.
This is a very rare opportunity to have someone deliver goods to us and also present on their method/pairing bonsai to the stand. Please RSVP and attend the event
Please reach out to Jon with any questions?!

There is no fee to attend, so invite any and all friends who are interested in Japanese culture.
